There are only three important items needed as part of the ETIAS Requirements for Salvadoran Citizens. They include the following:

  • A valid passport issued by the El Salvador government. This passport is required to have a minimum of three months validity from the date of the traveler’s arrival into the Schengen Zone.

The ETIAS Application process for Salvadoran Citizens

The process of obtaining the ETIAS visa waiver for Salvadoran citizens is quick, as it takes most travelers about 15 minutes to go through and complete the online application. We recommend that travelers keep their passport and form of payment nearby while filling out the application to make it easier to refer to the information required.

The ETIAS Application for Salvadoran Citizens is very straightforward. The form will ask for the traveler’s personal information, such as their full name, date and place of birth, contact information (phone number, permanent address, email), and passport information (passport number, date of issue, date of expiration). The second part of the application will ask applicants about their travel plans and about their criminal background.

It is recommended to go back and double check all information on the application to make sure that it is correct and accurate. If not, there may be delays in the processing of the ETIAS.

Once the application is complete, travelers will need to pay the processing fee and wait for approval.

How Long Does it Take to Get ETIAS from El Salvador?

Once the application has been paid and submitted, getting approved for the ETIAS visa waiver will take just a few minutes in most cases. This is because the screening process is automated and consists of checking the applicant’s information against international databases such as Interpol and Europol.

In rare cases, it may take up to 72 hours (three business days), especially if there is high demand or a backlog.

Likewise, if the automated process detects any discrepancies between the applicant and the security databases, a manual check will take place. This process will be conducted by an ETIAS officer and can take anywhere from four days to two weeks (in very rare cases).
Due to this reason, we advise all travelers to leave plenty of time to apply for their ETIAS and be approved.
